Discovering the area

The best holiday sites in Obereggen

Obereggen

The small village of Obereggen spreads out at 1,550 m above sea level, encompassing the valley station of the Obereggen ski resort and much, much more. Tourism has been vital for the local economy since the 60s, which won’t surprise you when you see the Latemar! We’re also within easy reach of Trentino, and the Obereggen ski resort’s connections with the Pampeago and Predazzo lifts in Val di Fiemme make getting there a walk in the park.

Deutschnofen

The slopes of Obereggen are only 7 kilometres from Deutschnofen. The easiest and greenest way to get to this sunny sports village is with the hourly ski bus. There is also a practice slope used for mini-skiing trips or to teach people how to ski. Away from the slopes there are 60 km of cross-country ski routes, 3 toboggan runs and countless winter hiking routes available. And if you’d rather be in the city, the village is only a 30-minute drive from the regional capital of Bolzano/Bozen.

Eggen

The village of Eggen is nestled in the middle of the dense coniferous forests of the Latemar slopes. The districts of Birchabruck, Obereggen and Rauth belong to the Deutschnofen area, at 1,120 m above sea level. The striking Eggentaler Horn can be seen clearly from here. Its rugged peak lies close to the border between South Tyrol and Trentino. Culture vultures will also note the pretty sight of the parish church of St. Nicholas and its Gothic bell tower.

Petersberg

Petersberg is a classic mountain village, home to 700 people at an altitude of 1,380 metres. It may be small, but it has a lot to offer. The highlight? The impressive pilgrimage church of Maria Weißenstein that has attracted pilgrims and cultural enthusiasts for centuries.
