Canazei
This is the great skiing centre of the Val di Fassa: at the foot of the Pordoi and Sella Passes, from here you can reach the Belvedere, Ciampac and Col Rodella ski resorts in just a few minutes, thanks to modern and fast lifts. The gateway to the Sellaronda, Canazei enjoys a magnificent view of the most beautiful Dolomite peaks, including the marvellous Marmolada. A daydream!
Campitello di Fassa
Here you can see the rocky peaks of the Sassolungo massif as well as the Col Rodella, which can be reached in no time by cable car. From Campitello you can also quickly enter the Sellaronda. If you don’t fancy skiing, go hiking in the Duron Valley on touring skis, snowshoes or a fat bike. Fun fact for history lovers: one part of the municipality, Pian, dates back to an ancient pastoral settlement, which is now a protected landscape and nature reserve.
Mazzin di Fassa
Mazzin is the smallest municipality in Val di Fassa, also known as the village of the pitores. These are the artisans who used to emigrate abroad in search of work for seasonal reasons. Cross-country skiing fans can start directly from here to get on the Marcialonga trail. For skiing you can easily take the ski bus to the lifts in the neighbouring villages.
Pozza di Fassa
In this village you’ll find the black ski slope Aloch in the Ski Stadium Val di Fassa – an unrivalled winter sports venue. International races happen here every year. If you prefer doing sport in the evening, the slopes are floodlit after dark. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the Marcialonga trail as well as the Ciancoal circuit in Pera. For those who prefer walking or ski touring, there are many opportunities in the charming nearby valleys such as San Nicolò, Monzoni, Gardeccia and Vajolet.
Vigo di Fassa
The village was included in the list of the Borghi più belli d'Italia, the most beautiful hamlets and villages in Italy! For those who like to go ski touring in the Rosengarten/Catinaccio group, Vigo is the right place, because from here a cable car leads directly to the small high plateau of Ciampedìe. This is a popular resort for families because of its children’s park. Fun fact: Vigo is also home to the Ladin Cultural Institute.
Soraga di Fassa
Soraga is one of the oldest settlements in Val di Fassa. The village is particularly well-known for its sculptors and woodcarvers. It’s also a haven for winter sports fans, with stunning cross-country skiing routes very near the hotels. Ski enthusiasts can reach the Moena-Lusia and Vigo-Catinaccio ski areas in a few minutes by ski bus.
Moena
Moena, the gateway to Val di Fassa, also known as the “Dolomite Fairy”, is captivating. It boasts an elegant pedestrian zone, the Piazza de Ramon, stylish shops, bars and restaurants. In winter, Moena becomes the centre of the Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino ski resorts. Many famous skiers come from here – and for good reason. Here you benefit from modern lifts, great slopes and the cross-country skiing centre Alochet with its large range of trails.
